REINEKE ISLAND: WHAT TO DO IN THE SEA OF JAPAN?
Everyone knows about Russian island, which is within walking distance from Vladivostok. But a little further on there are other, no less interesting Islands, including the island of Reinecke, about which I will tell you today. Why should I go there and what can I do there?
I got there to help clear this island of plastic that the sea throws up on the shore, as a volunteer. But I was pleasantly surprised that the island is quite original and full of interesting activities.
REINECKE ISLAND: HOW TO GET THERE?
Russian island has a bridge that you can use to get there by car. But there is no bridge to Reineke island, and the only way to get to the island is to buy a ticket for a small ferry:It departs from the sea port in Vladivostok, and comes to the only pier on the island of Reinecke. Tickets are cheap, but the schedule is not frequent.
WHAT TO DO ON REINECK?
Surprisingly, there is a lot to do here.

There is a very interesting place on the island: red rocks. First, they are actually red and they have an interesting and bizarre shape from the beach level. Secondly, they offer a great view from above:
For example, a view of a sunken ship.
In General, there are 3 sunken ships off the coast of the island, two wooden and one iron:
an abandoned ship, the Vladivostok, Reinicke
If desired, all three ships can be reached and climbed on them.
Third, it is at the foot of these red rocks that you can safely walk among the underwater mines washed up on the shore:

THE HIGHEST POINT OF THE ISLAND
There are two or three well-trodden paths to it, so you won’t get lost. The ascent will take no more than one hour, but the view will be gorgeous. And the view will be gorgeous both day and night on the starry sky. An island in the middle of the sea, on the island of one village, if the sky is clear, you will see such a strong starlight, which has not been seen anywhere before.
But even in the daytime there is something to see:
DIVE FOR SEA URCHINS
It was here that I first tasted sea urchin caviar, dived and cut oysters on my own, and also found a starfish on the bottom for the first time:
In General, the marine fauna here is very rich, so take with you glasses for snorkeling and a sharp knife to get your own food from the bottom of the sea.

WHERE TO LIVE ON REINECK?
Of course, it is ideal to live in tents here, if the weather allows. Come for the weekend, set up a camp here and relax body and soul:
There are no hotels here as such, but you can enter someone in the house for a small fee, if you ask about it on the pier.
